Mary F. Bowins of Geneva, OH, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend, was born on May 2, 1960, in San Angelo, TX. She passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024, in Cleveland, OH.
Mary will forever be remembered by her daughter Nicole Bowins, mother Patricia Ostrow, former spouse Dave Bowins, grandchildren Kennedy and Declan, siblings Ann, Suzie, Nancy, and Bob, nieces Jessica, Meghan, Chrissy, and Heather, as well as her foster children Patricia Jones and Joseph Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her son David Bowins and her father Robert Ostrow. While Mary's passing leaves a void in their lives, she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion.
An active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for an inspiring 42 years, Mary found joy in helping others and sharing her journey of recovery. She was also a dedicated member of Christ Episcopal Church in Geneva, where her faith and compassion shone brightly. With unwavering dedication, she fostered a nurturing environment for over 70 children throughout her 18-year career as a foster parent, which began in 1991.
Friends and loved ones are invited to gather on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake, to honor Mary's life and share cherished memories. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm to celebrate Mary's life, spirituality, and the impact she made on all who had the privilege to know her.
