Celebrating Professor Freedman's Legacy on Film
Donation protected
Hello! I’m Sarah Collins, a filmmaker and alum of Sam Freedman’s famous Columbia Journalism School book writing seminar. This spring, Sam will be teaching his 35th and final semester of the class, and asked if I would be interested in documenting it on camera.
I am honored to be making this film about Professor Freedman’s robust legacy, which includes 112 student book contracts from his class, as well as 10 award-winning books of his own. My aim for the doc is for alums to experience the magic of his class one last time, and to open up the experience to viewers who have not yet seen the master at work.
But, just like Sam’s class, this film will be a group effort. I need help covering production and post production costs, which include film equipment and paying colleagues for help with shooting, editing, and mixing. So I am kindly asking, will you chip in to help make this documentary a reality?
Let’s all give Sam the sendoff he deserves in the form of a film that can be enjoyed by all of us. Thank you in advance for your financial support. Every little bit helps!
In the words of Professor Freedman, “There’s work to be done.”
