Honoring the Life of Russell McKenzie

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our beloved Russell McKenzie on December 4, 2024. Russell was just 57 years old and had recently embraced the joy of becoming a grandfather—a role he was so excited to fulfill.

Russell was the kind of person who was always there when you needed him. He was a lending hand, a listening ear, and someone you could count on no matter the circumstance. Just last month, Russell proudly celebrated 20 years of sobriety—a milestone that reflected his strength, determination, and commitment to living a life of integrity and love.

His loss was completely unexpected, and our family is still in shock as we navigate this heartbreaking time.

Services to honor Russell’s life will be held as follows:

    •    Wednesday, December 11, 2024: Visitation from 6–8 p.m. at Shaker-Hill Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT.

    •    Thursday, December 12, 2024: Visitation from 10–11 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Spottswood AME Zion Church, 25 Crestwood Ln, New Britain, CT.
