Celebrating the Life & Legacy of John K. Wallen

Dear friends,

It is with profound sadness that we must share the news of the passing of our cherished horse trainer, brother, friend, and my father, John Wallen. As his only child, I find myself tasked with the responsibility of organizing his celebration of life and memorial services. The suddenness of this loss, combined with some of his outstanding bills, has caught me off guard, leaving me ill-prepared for the additional financial strain of memorial expenses. During this challenging time, I'm turning to his community for support.

To ensure we can properly honor my dad's memory, I've launched a fundraiser. This will cover the costs of various aspects, including arranging for a headstone at our family burial plot in Sioux City, Iowa, organizing a celebration of life event, and publishing his obituary in the Sioux City Journal, Springfield News Leader, and the National Horseman. Your generosity, no matter how small, will not only alleviate the financial burden but also ensure we can provide him with the meaningful send-off he deserves.

In addition to memorial expenses, any contributions exceeding our family's needs will be allocated towards digitally archiving photographs and hundreds of hours of videos capturing his life and his Champion horses. In accordance with my father's wishes and in alignment with his passions, these archives will be submitted to the American Saddlebred Museum and the Audrain County Historical Society in Mexico, Missouri, once renowned as the "Saddlebred Horse Capital of the World".

Your support and kindness during this difficult period mean the world to me. Together, let us honor John Wallen's life, continue to carry his spirit forward, and bid him a fitting farewell.
