Celebrating the Life of Brenda Kulp

Donation protected

Brenda Kulp was a passionate, smart, beautiful woman with a sense of humor that could light up a room and unparalleled resilience and spunk. For many years she fought a rare lung disease called LAM, and later courageously battled ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Never wanting to be a burden to others, many of her closest friends and family may not have even been aware of either diagnosis. Brenda fought hard until the last moment, spending treasured time with family, friends, and her daughter, Lauren.

Brenda held a number of different positions throughout her nursing career in the greater Triad and Triangle areas of North Carolina. She really found her calling in orthopedic trauma care, leading her to positively impact many patients, their families, providers, and colleagues. Brenda took pride in working for the American Board of Orthopeadic Surgery and serving as the Executive Director of the Southeastern Fracture Consortium to further research and innovation in orthopedic trauma care. She had a true passion to further research and education in the medical field, as well as a dedication to patient advocacy. In some of her final conversations, she shared ideas for ALS and LAM research to better the lives of others suffering from these diagnoses.

There is nothing that would make Brenda happier than to know that there is an ongoing legacy built in her name to improve outcomes and the patient experience for those that come after her. In honor of Brenda's life and dedication to impact the lives of others, we will utilize all donations from this platform to form a foundation on her behalf to execute on her ideas and fund events, research, innovation, and support for those suffering from ALS.

Created by and to be run and operated by Lauren Kulp and Ashlyn Zebrowski in honor of Brenda Hendricks Kulp, born April 21, 1953 and passed August 8, 2021.

We would love for you to share any thoughts or memories with us on Brenda's LifeWeb .
