Celebrating the Life of Kathy Rivera

Kathy was the most positive, beautiful and most compassionate person I’ve ever met.

4 years ago, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Uterine Cancer.  Sergio lost his job during the same time (he was a Pastor and the church could no longer afford to pay him) and instead of finding work, he stayed home to be her full time care taker.  Because my dad was no longer working, they did not qualify for healthcare and had to pay for all of her treatment out of pocket. 

Despite every hardship, he faithfully fought the battle with her. He was always one step ahead of the doctors and continued to help her find healing despite the odds.

Last night, she took her final breath and is now completely restored in the arms of Jesus.

We are all shocked and heartbroken but so happy she is finally at peace without pain or suffering.
As we begin to plan her funeral, we realize that it’s not just the pain of losing an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother and friend, but also the financial burden on Sergio.  In addition to the cancer diagnosis, Sergio has been driving a car that is a total loss.  We would love to help him get car. A lot of you have reached out asking how you can help, so we have set this up for those of you who are willing and able to help our hero Sergio celebrate the life for our irreplaceable woman.
