Celebrating the life of Margaret Claire Fowler
Please join us in the effort to celebrate Maggie’s life and recognize her lasting impact at UW, Seattle, and beyond.
Maggie was a friend, daughter, and sister. She dedicated her life to her family and friends, her art, and her community. She was an incredible force within the UW design program, a place where she planted seeds and will be remembered as a fierce leader and a dedicated designer and artist.
With roots in many places: Kirkland where she was born, Arizona where her family lives, Minneapolis where she spent her childhood, New York where she ventured to follow her dreams, and the many places she’s traveled in between, Seattle over the years became the place she called home.
With this, we want to honor her life with a dedicated bench outside of the art building where current and future UW students can rest between classes, enjoy the view of the Quad, and remember a student that embodied all the qualities of a passionate artist.

Throughout her time at UW, Maggie went above and beyond to give back to the Design Program and Greek community which she was a part of, by creating events to connect with the larger Seattle design community, building a mentorship program and organizing talks and lectures. With this bench we hope that her memory will forever be felt on campus and a place she called home.
We encourage you to share this page with other people in Maggie’s community.
