Celebration of life for Alex Harvel

In July 2021 my son Alex was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). It was a shock for all of us to receive this cancer diagnosis right after his high school graduation, when he thought he was just now going to step into his life filled with hopes and dreams. He fought very hard for the last 2 1/2 years during his chemo treatments traveling back and forth between his home here on Big Island and Kapiolani Hospital on Oahu. There were many scary moments, but he made it through with the support from a wonderful team of doctors and many others. He was able to find purpose and joy in his life through his music and determination to persevere and share his love and support with so many others. He had made it to the finish line of his treatments at the end of November 2023 and we all celebrated this huge accomplishment. However, four days later, he was in total organ failure and transitioned on December 4 at 2:17 PM. He was an amazing musician, son, brother, friend and all around human being. His time here was way too short, but so impactful on the ones, whose lives he touched, who knew him or were lucky enough to hear him perform. None of us expected this turn of his journey and we did not have a burial plan in place for our 21-year-old son. I would like to hopefully raise enough money to pay for his services, his celebration of life to honor Alex and to help pay for tickets for family to fly over from the mainland to attend. Funds for the celebration of life would go toward canopies, some basic foods, drinks, tables, chairs, decoration, paper products, etc…

All funds will go directly to Alex' mom Vicky, who will then designate what they will be used for. No amount will be too small and all is greatly appreciated. Many mahalos for your love, generosity and support.
