Celebration of life for Andrew Laird

As the sun rose Sunday July 3rd my brother Andrew Laird, took his own life. Andrew had a contagious smile and brightened the lives of many. The amount of people who loved this guy is unimaginable. I wish he could have seen how many people loved him. Unfortunately thats not how depression works. Andrew hid his struggles behind his great big smile, jokes and laughter. This has taken us all by surprise.

Andrew was passionate about poker and Disc golf. He made life long connections through both. I’ve been brought to tears more times then I can count in the last 2 days reading through memories and kind words. The outpouring support from family, friends and both the Madison poker community and disc golf communities has been humbling.

Never did I think I would be spending a Tuesday night creating a go fund me, to help with celebrating Andrew in a way he would approve of.

Many people have asked how they can help. We would appreciate this being shared. Even more, make sure the people in your life know it’s ok to ask for help. Hug your friends and family a little tighter. Make mental health a priority.
