Celebration of Life for Dorothy Ann Padgett
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cori Padgett-Bukowski and I am the granddaughter of Dorothy Padgett.
Dorothy passed over from this life into the other side of glory, on June 6th, at 10:07 pm at the ripe golden age of 83.
Her journey over the last several years has been challenging. She's suffered from dementia and recurring UTIs that compounded issues with her mental status.
However, in her final days, she was surrounded by her loved ones and went peacefully in her sleep, after being in my home on hospice care for approximately four weeks.
Prior to bringing her home with us, she spent about ten days in hospitals.
Called Granny by me and my cousins and others, called Mom by my aunt and uncle, and called Mrs. Dot or Dottie by many others, she was a tiny but mighty lady from sturdy stock and loaded with spunk.
She loved her family deeply. She loved God. She loved going to church. She loved the outdoors, sunlight, and flowers. One of her favorite things to do in recent years was sit on her front porch and enjoy the warmth of the sun.
Before dementia got too bad, she also loved to talk!
(And shop. She probably should have owned stock in QVC.)
She had been a widow for many, many years, since 2005, and lost her oldest son (my dad) in 2011. Despite facing quite a few hurdles in her life, she kept on trucking and loving.
Though she's gone from this world, we take comfort in knowing she's not gone forever, that she's with Jesus and other loved ones lost, and someday, we will all see her again.
Until then, she will be deeply missed by us all.
If you are willing and able to donate, I and the rest of her family appreciate the help in offsetting some of the financial burdens of her care the last four weeks, as well as her burial and service arrangements.
We continue to covet and appreciate your prayers during this difficult season, and are grateful for the kind words and people reaching out to us with condolences, even if we don't always reply.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for your support and love. We will update this with the date of her Celebration of Life once we have confirmed it.
