Celebration of Life for Ernest Ray Akers
Donation protected
Family and Friends,
With your kind and generous donations so far we have been able to purchase the permit for the service, invitations, prayer cards, memorial programs, photo collages and so on... We still have a lot to do and your continued generosity is so appreciated.
Ernie's daughters range in age from youngest 30 to oldest (me) 51. All of us had a special connection to our Father at different times in our lives and his. As the eldest daughter I am so grateful to have had a young Ernie and am remembering those times with great love and fond memories. I am also eternally grateful to Victoria and Talira for loving and caring for Ernie as he aged. They also gave him the love of 8 grandchildren.
While planning his service I have learned so much more about our Father.
I learned that during his Military service, he was in Germany and rescued my Mother. He found her very sick on the road and took her to the hospital. They fell in love and my sister Sara and I are the result of that love. Our Grandfather Rex Akers served in the Military for 25 years, but Ernie did not serve that long. Another discovery was that Ernie received a Defense medal as a sharpshooter of an M-14 (pretty cool!), while I wish we were able to find this medal I was given his Veterans hat and display it proudly in my room.
A quote from a friend of Ernie's ~"All Ernie ever talked about his love for his five daughters. Just know that he truly loved all of you girls."

Sincerely,
Tammytha, Sara, Talira, and Victoria
