It is with very heavy hearts that we share the news of our Mimi’s passing on. In November, Lolly became ill and was ultimately diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Anti-MDA5 Dermatomyositis. Despite receiving intensive treatment, the disease continued to progress throughout her hospital stay. We were prayerful and hopeful that Lolly would be healed and would return home to her beloved family and beautiful life, but instead she went to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 11th. She fought long and hard and with so much courage, and she handled such an unimaginable and impossible situation with such grace. In her final moments, she was filled with a peace that could only have come from Jesus, and her beautiful soul left this earth as she was surrounded by her wonderful family, who love her intensely and unconditionally.
The past several days have been very traumatic for the family, as we truly believed that Lolly would be healed and delivered from this horrific disease, but instead we are now left without a mother, a wife, a sister, a best friend, and the most wonderful Mimi. We are all more than heartbroken, and we don’t know how we can go on creating memories without her in this life. We find solace in knowing that we will someday be reunited with her and in the beautiful truth that she is now free from all pain that was brought on to her by this disease and by this broken world. A new and perfect heavenly body has been created for her, and she now dwells in eternal bliss in the midst of glory with our almighty, most powerful and loving Father.
We will continue to cling to our faith in this most difficult time, and we will lean on one another as we grieve this unimaginable loss. We have already been so blessed and touched by so many kind gestures and words from friends and family. Please know that your kindness is truly appreciated and cherished.
First and foremost, we ask that you pray continually for the family as we navigate our grief in the coming days. Prayer is powerful, and we need it now more than ever.
