Celebration of Life for Maureen Riordan

With a very heavy heart, Maureen Riordan's family regrets to announce her passing on June 17th, 2023 with her family and children, Tamara & Jaden Arbeau, by her side at the age of 61 years.

We are all still processing this unexpected, sudden and tragic event in which Maureen's family is still mourning her passing.

As we all attempt to process and navigate this difficult time, we would love to focus on honouring her extraordinary life, without the financial burden as there were so many other unexpected costs associated with her passing - closing of the house, moving, family trips during hospital stay, outstanding bill payments, etc.

Due to financial struggles throughout the years, Maureen, a single mother who raised two children on her own for the last two decades, never had the opportunity to set aside money and/or plan for an end-of-life celebration.

It is extremely important to us to celebrate her life to help with the processing of this loss, however, with the suddenness of this tragedy and the lack of savings the cost has been transferred to her children Tamara (20) and Jaden (18).

Any funds raised will be sent directly to her daughter and will be used to honour Maureen Riordan through celebration of life services, planning and event funds. Additional funds will be donated to local mental health services in Oshawa, Ontario, such as CMHA and/or the Denise House if applicable.

Thank you to everyone who helped her live an extraordinary life, to everyone who is making a difference in helping to honour Maureen, and to everyone supporting her children and family through this extremely difficult time. Any support is immensely appreciated by the family.

Details regarding the end-of-life celebration will be shared imminently as the family determines the location and timing for the event.
