Celebration of Life Mass for Annabelle Isky
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tianna DiMartino and I am one of Annabelle Isky's granddaughters. It is with an extremely heavy heart that I volunteered to create this Go Fund Me account on her behalf.
As many of you know, my grandmother Annabelle suffered a series of strokes and was hospitalized beginning on May 29, 2023 which took her ability to speak and to swallow and eventually placed her in hospice care at her daughter Loreli's house to be loved on and cared for until she took her last breath on this earth and passed into her Heavenly home on June 18, 2023.
Annabelle Isky was a remarkable woman who loved God, her family and her community. She was never without a smile, a laugh, an encouraging word or kind gesture for anyone whether they were a family member, friend or a stranger who crossed her path. If someone had a need and she had the means and the opportunity to meet that need, my grandmother would do anything she could, and give anything she had in order to meet that need, no questions asked or reciprocity expected.
Annabelle was the heartbeat of her family and an integral and beloved part of the San Juan Capistrano community which she called home for 50 years. She moved to San Juan Capistrano, California in November of 1972 and immediately immersed herself in the community selflessly giving to it her time, talents and friendship.
During her lifetime she owned three local businesses, volunteered at Mission San Juan, knitted pot-holders, scarves and wine bottle robes for Farmer's Markets, and in 2019 the San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association nominated her to represent them at community events and be their "Miss Fiesta" during the annual Swallow's Day Parade and festivities- a monumental honor which brought her so much pride and joy.
One of her greatest contributions to the community however was her faithful and dedicated service to the Catholic church she and her family attended, Serra Chapel, since early 1973- long before the Basilica was built at Mission San Juan. Her long-standing attendance and dedication at the Basilica earned her many responsibilities and honors including, among others, being the Basilica's wedding coordinator and promoting her to serve as the very first female usher there; an unprecedented honor.
Her husband, Robert Isky, preceded her in death, and the Mission graciously offered the use of Serra Chapel for his funeral service and it was Annabelle's strong desire that her own funeral mass be held there as well. However, Serra Chapel is requiring $1,200.00 in order to allow the family to reserve the chapel for her mass, despite her combined 50 years of service to both Serra Chapel and the Basilica, and they are requiring payment within the next couple of days to secure the chapel for her funeral mass.
In a last-ditch effort to ensure Annabelle's last mass can take place at the chapel she so faithfully served, in the community that meant so much to her, we are seeking to raise the $1,200.00 to book Serra Chapel for her funeral service so her family can honor her last wishes and we kindly request your financial assistance to help us make her wish a reality. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in ensuring that Annabelle's wish is fulfilled and memory is honored as she so rightfully deserves.
The San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association, along with the many other local organizations she gave freely of herself to, have graciously offered to fund a Celebration of Life service at El Adobe for Annabelle Isky to allow her family, friends and the community to come together to remember, honor and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who meant so much to so many people.
Any additional funds above the $1,200 needed to reserve Serra Chapel will be donated back to the Fiesta Association for their kindness and generosity and poured back into the San Juan Capistrano community Annabelle so loved and was so proud to be part of and invest in. Your generosity and kindness will be a blessing to the family and we are grateful for any assistance you may be able to provide to give back to this wonderful woman as we mourn her loss and remember with so much love and fond memories who she was.
Your prayers for the family are also desired and appreciated.
Thank you again in advance and God Bless!
