Celebration of Life in Loving Memory of Ulysses Guyton Jr.

Ulysses Guyton Jr. was born to the late Edith and Ulysses Guyton Sr. on December 6, 1949, in Daytona Beach, Florida. He departed this earthly realm on Monday, May 27, 2024. He was baptized and received Christ in 1994, under Pastor Richard E. Young of New Life Christian Church. He also served as an Armor Bearer with the Security Ministry at Agape Christian Fellowship.

Ulysses received his bachelor’s degree in education in Jacksonville, Florida. He was an avid baseball player in high school and this passion carried over into college where he played in the position of a pitcher. He also served in the brotherhood as a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

After he received his degree, he served as a Physical Education Teacher for more than 4 years. Later, he pursued a career in the retail industry where he served in management for over 55 years.

In 1993, Ulysses fell in love and from this union, they produced a beautifully blended family, 4 sons and 4 daughters.

He loved to spend quality time with his children and grandchildren. He spent leisure time playing pool, dominoes, watching football & basketball games, and playing solitaire & other card games. Ulysses loved providing for his family, and instilled in them the importance of hard work and its benefits.

Ulysses was truly blessed and departed this earthly realm on May 27, 2024. He was preceded in death by his loving parents and 5 siblings. He leaves to cherish his loving memories of 4 sons and 4 daughters. He also leaves 2 brothers and 4 sisters that reside in Florida. Along with 13 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends!

Thank you for your caring acts and appreciation towards the amazing father, brother, partner, and leader that has left a legacy showing his true passion, courage, and strength that reigns for generations. As an expression of sympathy and love, these funds will go towards his memorial and celebration of life.
