On January 20th, 2022, at 12:52 PM in Burke Health & Rehabilitation Center, my mother, Tamara Whitaker, passed away at 66 years old.

She spent the last month fighting severe pneumonia at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center before this. Once she got off the ventilator and was instructed to go to Burke Health & Rehabilitation Center, we thought she was improving. However, once she got to the rehab center, she was there less than 24 hours before the physical therapist found her unresponsive. They tried everything they could to save her, but it was too late. With her prognosis looking up, this was very unexpected and heartbreaking.

My Mother did her best to provide for myself and my brother as a single mom, and even living on a fixed income, she managed to save up a bit of money to help with her burial expenses. Still, it is not nearly enough to cover all of the expenses. I am asking for donations to help cover the costs so that my brother and I can lay her to rest. Anything helps, but if you cannot help, please share.
