Celeste Sluis Cancer Treatment Fundraiser

Dear family and friends,
There are people whose presence in our lives touches us in some special way that stays with us always. We are graced by their kindness and humor, their friendship, and the way they will do anything for us. Our lives are inevitably changed by people like this, and we are forever grateful that life has brought us together. Our daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, Aunt Celeste Sluis is just such a person.
Sadly, in November 2019, Celeste was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called uterine carcinosarcoma.
It was treatable but not curable and could spread anywhere. Her cancerous spots were removed, but treatments would still be necessary to keep it from spreading. With the support of her family and friends, church, co-workers, and amazing doctors and nurses, she decided to fight.
Beginning in January 2020, Celeste underwent six rounds of chemotherapy every three weeks, with each treatment being triple the strength of a normal dose. In July of 2020, she began receiving radiation five times a week. In spite of the tough days that followed, she never quit and was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support she received.
Two months ago, Celeste received news that the scans showed her cancer was back. Accompanied by her family, she traveled to Texas to see a specialist for a new treatment plan. Thankfully, the treatments would be given close to home where she can be surrounded by her loving family and friends. Right now, Celeste needs all the prayers and well wishes we can muster. She also needs financial help as her treatments have taken a severe financial toll. Please put her in your thoughts and prayers. If you would like to give to the Celeste Sluis Beneficiary Fund, donations will go toward this new round of treatment and care.
Many thanks and love to all of you who have shown an interest in Celeste. She truly couldn’t do it without you.
Love,
Celeste’s loving family
