Help Celia Fight Her Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected
Celia conquered cancer once. Let’s help her do it again.

Celia finally did it.
This amazingly positive, single-Mom of two teenagers, breast cancer warrior, self-employed businesswoman, and champion to voiceover artists worldwide successfully beat cancer and paid off a mountain of medical debt. In February 2019, Celia enjoyed one long exhale after concluding 5 1/2 years spent chipping away at her breast cancer treatment expenses while, at the same time, living life to the fullest in a way that those who have overcome cancer tend to do.

Energized by a sense of closure, Celia set her sights on new challenges in 2019. She helped her eldest daughter, Luna, navigate her way to acceptance into Baltimore’s Goucher College and cheered on her highschooler Josie, who is excelling in her studies. She worked to strengthen her relationships in the voiceover community she adores and launched a new branding course—her first foray in the world of online education. And, in May, Celia moved her 89-year-old Mom, Alberta, across the country so she now lives just a stone's-throw away.

Despite all this good something wasn’t right.
While Celia’s frontstage life burned as brilliantly as ever, behind closed doors things were increasingly not okay. The reality she kept to herself was that she was white-knuckling it through teacher-parent conferences, meetings with her crew at the office, and public engagements in the voiceover world. Unexplained pain and fatigue had returned to Celia’s body. At the end of the day, she found herself dropping into bed depleted after having given every ounce of energy she had to her kids and her work.

This past spring, Celia quietly began to seek out answers from doctors and on Friday, June 14, she learned that she once again has cancer. A new cancer. One that had nothing to do with the breast cancer she overcame in 2013. Celia was informed that she has a rare and advanced form of lymphoma that has an incidence rate of about 1.3 cases per million people per year in the United States.

Celia was devastated by the diagnosis. She was also relieved to know what had been causing her exhaustion and pain. Knowledge is power even when what is known is the last thing you want to experience. With a diagnosis, Celia could now take positive action against a clearly defined challenge. And that is exactly what she is doing.

Building a healing environment to overcome a rare form of cancer.
As anyone who has battled cancer well knows, life’s demands do not stop when you receive your diagnosis. For Celia, this means her children still need to be well cared for and her business must continue to thrive. At the same time, it is essential that she find a way to focus her energy like a laser beam on the treatment process and cultivate an environment that supports healing.

As a self-employed entrepreneur, Celia also needs financial support as she faces the self-employment insurance nightmare that gives so many of us night sweats. We are taking action here in solidarity with Celia to help her address the catastrophic financial burden of battling cancer, and with the knowledge that we too are one extraordinary illness away from being where she finds herself today. Any and all the support that is shared will be greatly valued and appreciated by Celia and her family including sharing Celia’s story with others on your social pages.

Love—full circle.
Sharing news of a devastating illness with the world is a daunting experience for anyone and especially for a life-long independent businesswoman whose M.O. is caring for and improving the lives of others. After some long discussions, Celia embraced our desire to support her healing journey through this campaign. We are thankful she did because we know the love she has consistently put out into the world will come back to her at this moment when she needs it most.

Together, we can help Celia get the care she needs and once again overcome cancer.

Please know that she appreciates and finds strength in all the warm vibes, sunshine, and love coming her way!

With much love,
Cheryl, Sabrina, Ted, Bettina and Julie
