Cella's Pediatric Cancer Fund

With a shattered heart, it burdens me to inform all of you that my beautiful sister passed away on her birthday at around 9:00 AM.

Her birthday this year really meant a lot to me and the whole family because of her promise. A few days ago, my my mom and her were in one of those conversations about the end of life. Cella promised to us that she will reach her birthday and with God's blessing, he granted her this birthday gift.

Being around death my whole life I know it as both a gift and a curse; a friend and an enemy. After years of countless pains, injections, and surgeries, somehow you made it easy for her to finally stop all of her sufferings and continue on with whatever happens after we have been defeated by time. Resenting you is evident in everyone's life as you take everyone at some point. Especially if that someone includes your brother. I want to say thank you for allowing my sister the luxury of passing away peacefully in her sleep.

As my family knows, I have always wanted a brother in my life. Although, biologically, I do not have one, I have been blessed enough to come across friends that I genuinely view as brothers. During my time contemplating all fo this, I have noticed that wish that I always dreamed of having was granted after the birth of my second sister, Lya in the form of my family's best blessing, Cella.

We would always play video games, call each other losers/hobos, play nerf guns, and annoy each other. You would always mirror my style and the best of all, collect shoes together. If I bought a flannel, you would buy a flannel. If I wore a hat backwards around the house, you'd wear a hat backwards around the house. I still remember not too long ago when I gifted her the Carmine Jordan 6s and the UNC Jordan 1s. Carmine 6s was my very first Jordan ever, to be able to gift that to Cella meant the world to me.

These are only some of the few memories that will forever be in my stories about you hobo. Don't worry, I won't ever forget you, your lovely smile, and your laugh that I long to hear again. I love you Cella, I wish we had more time together.

Bravery is not facing your fears, but facing what you do not know. Toughness isn't fighting, but getting back up after getting beat down time and time again. Strength isn't how much you can lift, but how you carry yourself getting weighed down by life's surprises.

You're the bravest, toughest, and strongest fighter of all. Our little warrior princess, Francella Jiarra Uy Delgado, will forever be remembered this way.

Until we see each other again,

Your big brother.
