Centennial Park Memorial - Dianne Humphrey

Donation protected
To honour the memory of Dianne Humphrey, this fundraiser is being organized to help carry out a goal that Dianne was hoping to achieve prior to her passing. This was to have a community bulletin board installed at Centennial Park in Central Saanich, BC.

Dianne was many things, including an incredible mother, sister, teacher, neighbour, and friend. There are many stories that have been shared since she passed away, and while all are unique, there is a consistent theme: Dianne was kind, she was a remarkable mentor, and she was the heart of a wide-reaching community. In recent years, she and dog Jaxon became fixtures in the walking community, including regular visits to Centennial Park where she initiated a monthly gathering that was inclusive of anyone (whether you had a dog to walk or not) who wanted to meet and share stories, tea/coffee and treats. She always wished for a bulletin board to be installed not only as a meeting place for these gatherings, but for somewhere to show maps, post messages, show lost items, and more to further support all visitors to the park.

Thank you very much for everyone's patience as we met with the Municipality of Central Saanich to discuss the logistics for this project. The municipality has completed the design for a bulletin board and we are raising the funds needed to begin the construction phase. The bulletin board will comprise of a concrete base, aluminum posts, metal panel with screen printed text including a map, exterior grade LED pot lights, illuminated sign and park logo. All funds raised will go towards paying for this bulletin board. Any additional funds will go in Dianne's name towards the Biology Department Memorial Scholarship at Camosun College where she taught for over 30 years.

An inauguration ceremony for this will be held at a later date once construction of the bulletin board has been completed. Please contact us for more details if you would like to be invited.

Thank you very much for helping bring Dianne's dream to life, especially to those who contributed towards this project already! You can learn more about Dianne HERE .
