Cervical Dystonia Support & Treatment for Megan
As you may know, my sister Megan Cronin was recently and suddenly diagnosed with Cervical Dystonia.
This rare and debilitating neurological disorder has made it painful and impossible for her to do even the smallest of life's daily activities. She cannot walk without a walker assist, she cannot drive and she cannot play the violin. Megan is incredibly strong and resilient and has been getting by out-of-pocket even after being unable to teach for the past 3 months.
There is no known cause or cure for Cervical Dystonia but this fundraiser will cover additional therapies that may help. She is currently undergoing craniosacral therapy, physical therapy, deep tissue massage, acupuncture and is taking a GABAergic medication. Possible additional treatments are botulinum toxin injections in the neck muscles, EMG Biofeedback, Hypnotherapy and surgery.
Megan is a joy to her friends and family as well as a staple of the Portland singer-songwriter community. She has played her heart out for us all and now I ask that you show her how a community can come together to make a difference.
Thank you!
