CF to Motherhood: A Dream to Reality

Hi everyone! My name is Julia and I'm so honored to support my friends Sarah and Tom in their journey to become parents. I met Sarah in 2014 when we were both working at diabetes camp and she has become one of my closest friends. Meet Sarah and Tom below!

 

 

 

 

Sarah lives with Cystic Fibrosis and type 1 diabetes. She has always dreamed of becoming a mom and has loved working with children since she was in middle school. She has continued to work with children in her career as a dietitian and pediatric diabetes care and education specialist. She always knew it would be difficult or impossible to carry her own child but thanks to science she is looking more forward to the future than ever. After starting the medication Trikafta in 2019, she began looking forward to the real possibility of starting a family. Sarah and her wonderful husband Tom got married earlier this year, and Tom loves and supports Sarah endlessly. Tom and Sarah will be amazing parents but due to Sarah's medical conditions, she cannot carry her own child.

 

I'm creating this because my friends Sarah and Tom need your support! They are beyond excited to become parents but it will take a huge financial toll. The agency and surrogacy costs will exceed tens of thousands of dollars. Their next payment of $10,000 is due when they match with a gestational carrier, hopefully early in 2022. Let's help this awesome and deserving couple, Sarah and Tom, become parents!
