Helping Debbie; Cancer Treatment Fund
Donation protected
As some of you know, it has been a tough year for our family - particularly my mother Debbie Roberts. She was diagnosed in 2022 with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer and Stage 4 Breast Cancer. She is still in the middle of this battle - fighting to save her own life.
Debbie started chemotherapy immediately after being diagnosed. It was decided that surgery was necessary for removal of the Ovarian/Omentum cancer, as well as another round of chemo. After a long recovery from surgery, the focus has been on treatments to shrink the breast cancer and radiation for other areas where it has spread. Unfortunately, it looks as though the Ovarian cancer has continued to grow and she has developed a 2nd lump in her left breast. Her doctors have a treatment plan in the works, so she can't stop the fight yet.
Debbie, who lives independently with no other financial income, chose to care for her mother fulltime in her own home back in 2018 due to early onset dementia. Not surprisingly it has taken a toll on her emotionally after the Cancer diagnosis. With having to relocate her mother to an assisted living facility, laying her dog Zeke to rest, putting the brakes on her home business “Sip Happens” and receiving continual treatment, it’s hard to put into words how she keeps going – yet she does. Her house has gone silent, but she is still smiling - always trying to make everyone around her happy. Many of you may have been a lucky recipient to one of her amazing handmade gifts that she puts so much love into.
Thankfully, Debbie works for a wonderful and understanding company that has allowed her to continue working full time, remote as needed. Still, as you know, health insurance only covers so much. Between paying an “annual max out of pocket deductible” in 2022 and 2023, as well as the continual copays, bills are piling up. In order to keep up with her multiple weekly doctors' visits between two oncologists, medications, tests, chemo, and surgery, she needs financial help! Expenses haven’t stopped for this year and her deductible will be due again the first week of January.
All funds requested will go directly to these medical expenses that have added up to numbers unimaginable. Any amount you're willing to contribute is so greatly appreciated, and if you aren't able to contribute money at this time, a share with your family and friends would mean the world to us. Help us get this message in front of as many people as we can, so Debbie can get the financial assistance she needs to win this life-threatening battle!
Thank you so much... Jackie Smith and Jimmy Smith
