Support for Family After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
Sadly, on Wednesday, April 17th, my family experienced 2 incredible losses.
My grandmothers home of over 40 years burned down in a catastrophic fire. This was the home that not only my cousins and I all grew up in, but our parents as well. In the words of my cousin Julia, "my whole being and heart was built in that place. Whether learning life lessons, laughing uncontrollably with my family and even getting the most comforting naps in my grandmas room, my family created a beautiful safe space. I have the best memories of my grandmother's cooking, grilling in the yard, and holidays crammed in the kitchen...my grandmother built a place so special..." This house was not only a place of residence, but was truly a home that was made for living in.
Although we are very grateful that our family was uninjured in this event, we were heart broken to learn that the family dog Beya lost her life in the fire. Beya was brought into our family by my beloved cousin Nicky only months before his passing and she quickly became the little princess of the house. This loss was truly a blow to our family as she was not only a pet but my grandmother's baby and a tether to Nicky that was cherished by all.
As a result of this tragedy, we are asking for help to rebuild my grandmothers home as well as supply her and my uncles with some essential items such as clothing/toiletries/daily necessities. While insurance is playing a part, our goal is to alleviate the burden of the immense costs associated with rebuilding their home. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
