Christmas bicycles for kids!
Last year we created “Bikes for Beaumont” because we believe that a bicycle should be a birthright for kids in our country. Sadly, far too many children will never experience the pride and excitement of owning a bike. They will never know what it truly means to be an American kid. At this special time when we pause to celebrate our blessings, we are asking our friends and family to open their hearts once again and join us in making this holiday season one that will change the lives of children in our area for many years to come.
The clinic and the community were involved last year and we were able to deliver 65 bicycles to children affected by the hurricane. This year we are teaming up with a local organization called Ubi Caritas Health Ministries. Ubi Caritas is a privately supported, non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of uninsured and under-insured families in Southeast Texas. Their mission is to provide a helpful and supportive environment in which underserved families can access critical health and outreach services. Many of these families suffered immeasurable loss due to Tropical Storm Harvey and most are challenged in providing even the basic necessities. Christmas should not be a time of year when their difficulties are amplified. We are offering our support by providing at least 100 new bikes this Christmas for children in their “Health is HIP” program. Please join us in providing these families with some relief and their children a Christmas they will never forget!
