CFRC 101.9 FM Annual Funding Drive
Donation protected
As the world’s longest-running campus-community radio station, CFRC 101.9 FM - Radio Queen’s University has maintained its tradition of fostering campus and community culture and engagement since 1922. Our volunteer driven music and spoken word broadcasts and podcasts reach listeners locally, nationally and internationally – allowing community members to share their voices, perspectives and ideas and allowing listeners engaging opportunities to more closely connect with their community.
As you are undoubtedly aware, the Ontario Provincial Government’s Student Choice Initiative is expected to have a significant impact on CFRC’s operational capacity. Fees that were once mandatory are now optional. We anticipate significant reductions in our collected student fees over the next few years. These reductions threaten the station’s ability to operate and to provide programming, services, and broad/podcast training opportunities to our campus and Greater Kingston communities.
With strong support from our global community of listeners, CFRC aims to maintain its operations full speed ahead, to become a leading independent news source in our region, to increase our sports and live broadcasting capacity, and to increase our experiential learning capacity for students in broadcast radio, podcasting, journalism, and research communications.
CFRC 101.9 FM needs your help in supporting our aims. Will you make a financial gift today to ensure CFRC maintains its operational capacity, programming, training and experiential opportunities for students?
Not only will your donation help CFRC meet our aims, your gift to CFRC will help us reach our 100th Anniversary in 2022 and ensure our volunteers can continue to enjoy the opportunity to use their creative skills and voices to both participate in and shape their campus and Kingston communities.
This fundraiser is organized by CFRC Station Manager Dinah Jansen, Sales and Marketing Coordinator Mike Sheppard, Board President David Cunningham and Board Treasurer Graeme Langdon.
