Forever Living & Giving

On October 26th we (Rotem, Nimrod & Dean) will be running 100km marking 10 years since the passing of our beautiful אמא. Mum's spirit, energy, and legacy of 'Forever Living & Giving' lives on in each of her loved ones.

The anguish of losing a loved one is a pain like no other, one that resonates deeply and universally. In light of the tragic events of October 7, this sentiment has become even more profound. The massacre has left families shattered and communities grieving, reminding us of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with those we hold dear.

In these trying times, we have decided to donate funds towards Israel, a country enduring unimaginable violence in the wake of these events. Since October 7, Israel has been navigating a wave of unprecedented violence, and our contribution is a small gesture of solidarity and support for those affected.

Here's a small snippet that I (Dean) read at her consecration 9 years ago;

Mum to many of you is a beautiful, kind and generous person with a huge heart to love. I can go on and tell you about the amazing characteristics she possesses, but I’d rather tell you a story which personifies her.

There was an instance where a woman came into Mum’s store browsing around at various items on display. As she left the store, Mum realised that she had stolen a piece of jewellery. Any other person would stop the woman and call the police. Rather, Mum stopped the woman, wrapped the jewellery and gifted it to her, to which most people would think is crazy.

Mum is a woman who lived by the values of ‘forever living and giving,’ which I hope I can live up to her values some day. It’s hard to think that it’s only been a year, whether it’s been slow or fast, I don’t know. On days like these it’s important to remember all the happy and beautiful memories we all had of our beautiful Mother, as it is very easy to get caught up in all the emotions.

Well, here we are, 10 years later, honouring her legacy and living by her values of forever living & giving.
