Hello Friends and Family. It is with prayerful hearts that we come to you to share Ashley’s story.
Ashley has recently received a stage 4 adenocarcinoma lung cancer diagnosis, which has regrettably metastasized to her bones. She has spent the last few weeks in multiple hospitals trying to get answers, and relief from her pain and breathing challenges. In addition to this devastating diagnosis, the doctors found a large pulmonary embolism (blood clot in her lungs), in which she is currently being treated. This has added another layer of difficulty to Ashley’s recovery, and her ability to be a mom and wife. Ashley’s overall diagnosis isn’t positive. The physicians say this aggressive type of cancer isn’t curable and has a very limited life span.
However, we believe in an amazing God who can restore health and heal all illnesses, and we pray for Ashley to be able to live a fulfilling life again.
What we do KNOW, and believe to be TRUE, is that only GOD holds the story for Ashley. Because of this, Ashley has decided to fight for her life - to grow old with Jason and to watch her kids grow up.
With that, the Smith family will have a long few months and years ahead. With multiple treatments, traveling, medical bills, monthly bills, childcare, and so much more, our hope is that this can help ease some of that burden.
At this time, Ashley is only receiving 67% base disability leave with no commissions, and Jason was let go from corporate America in July, and is currently looking for a job. This combination, in addition to needing assistance for kids, is incredibly stressful.
Ashley’s steadfast faith in the Lord, dedication to stay in the Word, and bravery is incredibly inspiring. Please join us in offering love, empathy, prayers, and assistance to ensure that Ashley receives the best care possible as she battles this cancer.

Some of Ashley’s steadfast faith today (9/22): “This diagnosis is gut wrenching, awful and so rare since I’ve never smoked a day in my life. But I trust the God of the universe that raised Jesus from the dead, and I know I have that same power that lives in me. I need Him every second of every day, or my mind goes to dark places. My kids now have a momma who is very sick, connected to continuous oxygen and it’s just not fair. I beg the Lord that I can raise my babies and grow old with my husband. Our whole world has changed in an instant. Let us be faithful to the Lord with this trial.”
“I will continue to worship our gracious loving father and ask you pray for a miracle for me. I believe I won’t be a statistic and I will BEAT this. My cry over the last couple of weeks: ‘Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long? Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. Among the dead no one proclaims your name. Who praises you from the grave? I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes. Away from me, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer. All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish; they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.”
