A Devastating Loss
On February 10, 2025 our dear friends at Red Deer Resort on Lost Land Lake suffered a heartbreaking tragedy -- their home and beloved resort were completely destroyed in a fire. They were able to escape safely with only the clothes on their backs. In an instant, they lost everything: their home, livelihood and a place that has been a second home to so many in the community and beyond.
A Place That Meant So Much:
For years, Red Deer (originally built in 1906) has been more than just a resort -- It has been a gathering place, a source of lifelong memories and a home away from home for visitors and friends. Whether it was summers spent on the water, cozy winter getaways, or simply the warmth of their hospitality, Red Deer was a special place for many.
