My name is Breann Crocker, Chad's sister. Chad passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 29 after a long battle with drug addiction. His family wishes to speak candidly about the circumstances surrounding his death and his struggles with addiction in hopes that even one family can be spared this heartache. When Chad was sober, he was the kindest and most helpful person. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. He was hard working and loyal to all those he loved. He had the most infectious smile that would light up a room. Unfortunately, Chad was never able to overcome his demons and succumbed to his addiction. All of us are shocked and unfortunately not prepared for all that is happening. Losing a loved one is always difficult, but coping with a sudden loss adds additional stresses, including paying for the funeral and related cost. I started this GoFundMe for our family, but especially for my Mom, to help elevate some of the financial stress as she deals with the unimaginable sorrow of losing a child. Anything you can do to help during this heartbreaking time is greatly appreciated by us all.
