Dear Friends and Family,
It is with heavy hearts that we reach out to you today. Our dear friend and a cherished member of our bar family, Chad Metzger, has recently faced an unimaginable health crisis. As many of you know, Chad has been a pillar of our community, always greeting everyone with a warm smile and a kind word, serving not just drinks, but also friendship and comfort. Now, it's our turn to serve him.
A few weeks ago, Chad began experiencing severe heart palpitations. What started as a frightening, but seemingly manageable, issue quickly escalated into a life-threatening emergency. Chad was rushed to the hospital, where doctors determined he needed an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) to regulate his heart. Unfortunately, his journey didn't end there.
After being released from the hospital Chad was rushed once again to the ER. Chad contracted sepsis, a severe infection that spread rapidly through his body. He was moved to the ICU, where he fought for his life for many, many, many days. The infection has taken a terrible toll. Chad is now in a rehabilitation center, but the fight is far from over. He is facing the devastating reality of losing his toes and fingers, with surgery for his fingers taking place today (May 24th) and for his toes soon to follow.
As if this weren't enough, Chad has also lost all kidney function and is now on dialysis for five hours a day, three days a week. This intense treatment regimen is vital for his survival but adds another layer of complexity to his recovery.
Chad's parents, who have always been his rock, are struggling to navigate this overwhelming situation. His father is also dealing with his own health challenges, making this a particularly difficult time for the entire family.
We are reaching out to our incredible community to ask for your support. Chad has always been there for us, and now it's our turn to be there for him. The funds raised will go directly towards:
- Chad’s extensive rehabilitation costs
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Support for his parents to help them manage their own health challenges and care for Chad
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference. Together, we can help alleviate the financial burden and allow Chad and his family to focus on what truly matters: his recovery and their well-being.
Please join us in supporting Chad during this critical time. Share this campaign with your friends, family, and anyone who has ever had the pleasure of being served by Chad. Let's come together and show him the strength and love of our bar family. There will be an in person fundraiser at the Hollywood Roadhouse, 41480 N US 45, Antioch, IL on Saturday June 15th starting at 3 pm. In honor of Chad, Miller Light will be $2 and Hollywood will be donating 50% of the day’s sales to Chad. Please share this message and the information about the GoFundMe page. We need help from all of our friends and family members. Together we can make a real difference!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and support.
With gratitude,
Terri
