Chad's Medical & Living Expenses While Healing

Hey there, this is Carly, Chad's younger and favorite (ok, only) sister. Thank you for reading a little bit about what's going on and how you can help!

In the fall of 2021, Chad received news that he had extensive bladder cancer. The months that followed were painful and a rollercoaster of medical treatments. There were back-to-back surgeries to remove a large tumor in November, followed by chemotherapy at the end of December 2021. On April 14, Chad underwent a 9-hour surgery to remove his bladder.

Throughout all of of this, Chad has been blessed to be connected to an outstanding urologic oncologist, Dr. Laviana, who specializes in bladder cancer and the unique robotic surgery Chad required. Chad has continued to work as soon as possible between each of his medical treatments over the past six months. As a chef in a busy restaurant, this means long hours on his feet and bent over a counter, far from easy while fighting cancer.

Before surgery, Chad was hopeful of returning to work within a week of this latest procedure. As he begins his initial recovery from this surgery, and faces challenges ahead to adjust to his new daily healthcare needs, Chad needs more time to rest and recover than he anticipated.

*Chad is fortunate only to be responsible for a small percentage of his total bill from his surgery, but when the total is in the six-figures, a small percentage is still a hefty amount.

Financial assistance will help him continue to heal and get over this last hurdle without the stress from being off work during this time.
