Chad's Urgent Leukemia Fundraiser

My name is Jennie van der Helm and I am Chad Thompson's aunt. About 4 weeks ago, my nephew collapsed with what everyone thought was a heart attack. While in the hospital, it was discovered he had developed leukemia. After a few tests and several days later, the doctors diagnosed it as Stage 3 leukemia. Chad is a diesel truck mechanic and has worked on diesel trucks for 18 years. Because of the various kinds of chemicals he works with, his doctor told him he needed to find another line of work.

Chad is a family man and the sole wage earner for his family. This has been devastating for him and his family. He is currently in the Cancer Center at Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

He has been taking 3 types of chemo treatment. He has been fighting pneumonia and infections of his stomach and intestines. He is on a high-dose treatment of antibiotics to keep his blood from going septic.

This family is in financial difficulties. Like the rest of us, they have daily expenses to continue to pay. If you can afford to help monetarily, it will be greatly appreciated.
