The Chalice is a drinking vessel that has a rich history across many cultures around the world. It is deeply rooted in tradition, serving as the centerpiece of many gatherings to share in the joy of beer, the “people’s drink.” Whether in somber moments or times of celebration, the Chalice has always brought people together to enjoy libations across cultures, classes, and time.
Brian Engdahl—the founder, owner, and head brewer of Chalice Brewing—has dreamed of opening a brewery for over a decade. He recognizes that contributing to the craft beer movement is the perfect way to bring people together. Brian’s passion for brewing comes from his desire to build a community where all people are welcome to join in experiences that foster joy, happiness, and engaging conversation.
Brian is slated to open Chalice Brewing in the beautiful town of Coeur d'Alene in early fall 2020. However, before the doors can open, he could use YOUR HELP.
The city requires a $365 fee for every seat in the tap room. As such, this is YOUR CHANCE to become a part of Chalice Brewing’s history!
The goal is to raise $5,475, this is the cost for 15 seats. The bar will have 30 seats in total which we hope to all get sponsored one day.
Sponsorship Levels:
$365 - Golden Chalice Donor (Full Chair Sponsorship) - 30 chairs available
Gift in Return:
- A free pint of beer on your first visit to Chalice Brewing.
- A permanent plaque attached to a bar stool or restaurant chair in the taproom.
*The plaque will be 1"x 2.5" bronze and can be engraved with your name, a company name, or be dedicated to another person. Please reach out if you would like to see an example.

More Information About the Brewer:
Brian Engdahl earned bachelor’s degrees in both Fermentation Science and Business Innovation Management from Oregon State University, all while competing as a Division I Wrestler. His work ethic and determination has helped prepare him for his hardest challenge yet, becoming an entrepreneur and business owner.
After graduation, Brian moved to Portland, Oregon where he worked for Widmer Brothers Brewing in their largescale production brewery. From there, he moved to Ancestry Brewing, a Portland start-up brewery, and quickly advanced to the head brewer position. As head brewer he developed many brands that can be found on the shelves of grocery stores. He has experienced the industry at different scales and is now ready to be fully immersed and contribute in his own way. He is driven by a passion to elevate the brewing industry through continuous innovation, while providing fun and unique craft options suitable for all consumers.
