Challenge 21- Cathy Halpin - DSC 2023.

Our beautiful 3 year old son Finn has Down Syndrome and early intervention with various therapies such as Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy are critical in helping Finn achieve his full potential.
Down Syndrome Centre Cork has provided my family with heavily subsidized appointments and workshops with their excellent therapists as well as a welcoming space to meet other families, build networks, relationships and friendships.

Most babies inherit 23 chromosomes from each parent, for a total of 46 chromosomes. Babies with Down syndrome however, end up with three chromosomes at position

Funds raised will go towards supporting vital services for children with Down Syndrome in Cork. The Centre, which supports over 150 children and their families, is wholly reliant on the generosity of the public and local businesses to stay in operation.
Down syndrome, is a genetic condition caused by an extra chromosome.

I am going to walk the 21k from Haulbowline Cork to the Marina Cork on the 18th of June 2023, with my husband Padraigh.
Finn is the light of our life, and is doted on by his 3 wonderful big brothers, Nannies and Grandad, together with wider family and friends. Finn has cemented our family unit, and made us stronger than ever.

The Centre is an invaluable resource for us and if you can donate something towards this fundraiser no matter how small I would appreciate it so much.
