Challenge for Allegra's Ambition and Alzheimer's
Donation protected
On 4th June, Abbie Metcalf successfully completed the Bournemouth Salty Sea Dog Sprint Triathlon. Although continual respiratory illnesses meant that I couldn't complete this with Abbie as planned, I completed a distance identical non-event triathlon by myself in Romsey on 29th October.
On 20th August, Ellie Barrie and I ran a full Tough Mudder (15km and 30 obstacles). These two challenges do not come naturally to me. I have always been a keen team sports player, but I struggle to motivate myself to train for something when there are no teammates to keep going for and no ball to chase!
We have completed these challenges for two charities - Allegra's Ambition and Alzheimer's Society.
Allegra’s Ambition aims to enable, engage and empower young, disadvantaged people to fulfil their potential through sports and outdoor activities.
Alzheimer’s Society campaign for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today.
These two causes are close to the hearts of Ellie, Abbie and Myself. We were all at school with Allegra, whose motivational personality and enthusiasm for sport shone so brightly and has continued to be inspirational.
Like many, the three of us have all seen dementia's aggressive nature in affecting the ones we love.

Any donation will be appreciated and will be shared between the two charities.
