CHALLENGE LOCH LOMOND 2023 for BEN VIEW CENTRE

7 years ago, a physical and mental fundraising challenge was born and created by the one and only inspirational David Cargill (CHALLENGE LOCH LOMOND) He set this up to raise funds for a cause very close to his heart, in honour of his mum, who at the time was battling cancer. David vowed to continue this challenge every other year to raise as much funds as possible for special community causes.

This year CHALLENGE LOCH LOMOND'23 is back on! And this time the aim is to raise a minimum of £1000 for a local community centre close to the late David & Mary Cargill's hearts, & an important service to the locals of West Dunbartonshire - Ben View Resource Centre, Dumbarton.

BEN VIEW is an essential charitable service in our area, tackling loneliness and social isolation as well as providing much needed services for our Local Older People and Youth age 5 - 16 years of age. Without funding this amazing charity organisation would be unable to provide the well needed services we utilise including:

* Older people's social lunch club (80 meals per week)

* Personal Care for vulnerable people within their own homes

* Youth Programme supporting 110 young people every week

* Volunteer Training Programme to help run these services

* Children's Fund which is accessible through 3rd parties offering a payment for children living in extreme poverty

* Warm Hubs and Free Meals (which have been essential and well used in these recent difficult times)

This challenge is a grueling 65 miles in total! - broken down into 27 miles cycle from Balloch to Drovers Inn, immediately followed by a 15 mile run through beautiful scenery but rough terrain/conditions & then a further 23 mile cycle from Rowerdennan back to Balloch!!!
