Challenge Run - National Healthcare Workers Week

At Diakonos Group, we work hard each year to provide our staff with opportunities that most companies often overlook, and we have always felt that our staff are number one! Happy staff makes for a happy culture and excellent care for those entrusted to us.

Currently, we are working hard to raise money for our Fun Committee. Two years ago, we raised over $6,000! This year we wish to double that and raise $12,000! Each building has a group that participates in the Fun Committee. These groups host events each month, throughout the year, for their staff. In the past, they have hosted unique activities, such as Easter egg hunts for staff families, parties where they pass out school supplies from each child's back-to-school list, and even fun Tik Tok challenges! Over the years, staff participation has grown tremendously. They have been able to host a barbeque on the Forth of July, offer employees a Thanksgiving dinner, and distribute Christmas gifts. It is such an excellent opportunity for our staff to have some fun!

In conjunction with GoFundMe, we have submitted a request to the National Calendar to have the first week of March represent National Healthcare Workers Week! If chosen, it will become an official calendar week starting in 2024! To help raise money for our healthcare workers and the facilities' fun committees, Todd Beesley, our Director of Human Resources, and Brandon Campbell, Director of IT, will run the David Goggins 4x4x48 international fitness challenge. This challenge is to run 4 miles every 4 hours in 48 hours.
