Joshua Aguirre Taekwondo prodigy 2020

Donation protected

My name is Joshua Aguirre. I am an eight-year old Taekwondo prodigy athlete with the hopes of representing the United States in the 2028 Olympics.
I have been competing in the sport of Taekwondo for only 26 months and have already received a total of 93 medals (85 gold) along with over 20 first-place finishes in competitions throughout Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and North Carolina including trips overseas to Costa Rica and Toronto, Canada. I love competing and winning medals. It’s my passion.

I became one of the youngest student-athletes to ever earn the level of black belt in Pennsylvania. Most recently I became the youngest 2nd degree black belt in the United States and the world. I am also one of the youngest Latinos in the U.S to earn a black belt.
The road to the 2028 Olympics is no easy task. It takes many days of practice and lots of financial support.
Due to my age, regulations, and rapid rise in the sport my parents have been unable to keep up with financial support needed before I can be legally sponsored by the Taekwondo association. We need to travel twice a week away from my hometown to continue my progress. We currently count on donations to help with costs. For this reason we are seeking additional help for expenses such as training, transportation, airfare, hotel stays, equipment and a coach.
All participants are required to have a coach. The athlete and coach train, travel and compete together. Currently one of my parents, usually my mother, fills this role.
In order to be considered for the 2028 Olympics to be held in Los Angeles, California, I must attend mandatory and qualifying tournaments. This enables me to maintain current ranking and learn how to handle the pressures of highly competitive environments. I must continue additional training with international Masters of the sport. I am currently training with Master Suji Kang in New Jersey, who remains the most decorated Tae Kwon Do poomsae athlete in the world and Master Agustin Cuascut, 5th Dan Kukkiwon Certified Master Instructor in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
But, to reach that level, there are many, many years of training, conditioning, and travel to tournaments both here in the U.S. and internationally. My goal is to try and raise Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) over the next twelve months to support all the training, travel, and tournament fees my mommy and daddy have to pay! This money will help me to compete at the tournaments I need to go to. My goal is to compete in the U.S., Mexico and Seoul, South Korea.
My parents have this GoFundMe account and will be helping me manage it, remember I am still only 8 years old.
Thank you all so much for helping support my dreams! You have no idea how much we appreciate it.
I will post pictures/videos/and updates to this page (with Mom & Dad's help) as I move forward with this journey.
