Sara and Emma raise money for Champion Chanzige
Emma and Sara are off on the teaching adventure of a lifetime. In November we are heading off to Tanzania to the Kibasila primary school in Kisarawe, where we will be teaching a class of 79 children in the morning and renovating classrooms in the afternoon. We have planned lots of fun, creative activities and are taking reusable resources which can be left behind for the school to utilise once we have left.
We are going with the Champion Chanzige charity which has been doing brilliant work in Tanzanian schools since 2013. The charity makes sustainable changes to the educational environment of schools such as; providing electricity for classrooms, installing rainwater harvesting systems to provide drinking water, setting up kitchen gardens, providing play equipment and educating girls on how to make reusable sanitary items. Their ‘Bridge the Gap’ scheme provides funding for uniforms, pencils and exercise books which are a requirement to attend school. This costs only £27 a year but is sadly still out of reach for many families.
This is a self funded trip and all money we raise will be donated to the charity and support their amazing work, any amount you can spare will go towards making a real difference to the lives of these children.
