Chanda & Bobby Collins Medical Journey
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Sonja Hall. I’m the best friend/sister/sister-in-law of Chanda and Bobby Collins. They have recently encountered several medical emergencies along with Chanda’s father. Here’s their story:
Bobby – the sole provider for the family – started losing weight suddenly and drastically. After losing 70+ lbs. in almost two months and encountering a thyroid storm which lead to an emergency ER visit he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. He is currently on medication, but his levels are nowhere in the normal range. He is looking at having surgery to remove his thyroid. Bobby was rushed to the hospital by ambulance on Labor Day after what was thought to be a heat stroke. He was admitted to the hospital. After several test it was confirmed, he has an aneurysm in the left carotid artery and one in his brain. After discharging from the hospital and following up with a vascular doctor he only has the aneurysm in the carotid artery. Praise God the one in the brain is no longer there but he does have a condition called Vasculitis. He is going for a second opinion and could be facing the possibility of having surgery to repair the aneurysm in the carotid artery. While all this was going on his thyroid levels are still not where they need to be medically. On Friday, September 8th Bobby once again had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance after what appeared to have been a stroke, heart attack or abdominal aortic aneurysm. The diagnosis was Pancreatitis. All the recent pain and stress has caused him to have Vasovagal Syncope. He is also dealing with having Rheumatoid Arthritis, Polymyalgia Rheumatica, Graves’ disease . The decision was made for Bobby to take a leave of absence from his place of employment to help him heal and recover from all the health issues he is encountering.
Chanda has been in chronic pain from a fall which resulted in several herniated disc and damaged SI joint. She has been trying to work her job to bring in some money for copays, gas, groceries and help keep the bills paid. She just had emergency surgery on 9.19.23 to remove her gastric lap band and port due to infection and severe stomach pains. She will be out of work at least 6 weeks.
They are looking at approximately 8 follow up doctor’s visit between the two of them over the next two months. These visits incur co-pays along with the cost of any medications that will be prescribed. They will also have the cost of refilling medications they are currently prescribed.
All money received will be used for doctor co-pays, medications, gas for traveling to doctor visits, groceries, and everyday living expenses. Any donation is greatly appreciated. No donation is too small. If you can’t donate, please keep them in your prayers that their recovery will be fast and healthy, and they can return to their normal life. May God richly bless you all and thanks for reading and please share if you feel led too.
