Help Chandra recover from a tragedy

Hi, I'm fundraising for Chandra McFarland.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023, police responded to a welfare check at the request of concerned co-workers who were worried when Chandra missed work and was not reachable by normal means. As police attempted to make contact at her residence, Chandra was able to yell from a window that she was being held captive. Police forcefully breached her residence and arrested the assailant David Powers, also known as David Vassily Robakevich. David is a coward who has a history of assaulting women. He similarly faced attempted murder charges for strangling his ex-girlfriend while reciting prayers in Russian on March 1st, 2013.

Chandra was held captive for days and was repeatedly assaulted and strangled to the point of losing consciousness and nearing death. Chandra’s home has been destroyed. The assailant ransacked her home, he used a knife to shred furniture, clothes, and anything that could give her comfort. Chandra was admitted to the hospital for her injuries and has a long road ahead to recover physically and emotionally. The assailant is currently in custody awaiting formal charges.

Chandra's innate nature as a caregiver is truly admirable. Her kind and affectionate spirit, coupled with her love for music festivals, allows her to see the best in people. Chandra has devoted her life to the healthcare industry, starting as a candy striper during her teenage years to becoming a Registered Nurse bringing comfort to those in need.

This GoFundMe campaign aims to provide financial assistance for Chandra's medical bills, lost wages, counseling, clothing, furniture, a security system, and moving expenses. Our goal is to ensure Chandra has the means to recover from this horrific event.
