Changing Lives, One Haircut at a Time

Hi there. My name is Lisa. I am a barber working in Edinburgh. The best way to reduce offending is to help a person get a job, giving them self-esteem and a way of supporting themselves. I want to set up a free academy barbershop to provide employment opportunities for people at risk of offending and those released from prison. Bad Boy Barber will provide training and mentoring to anyone who wants to learn to be a barber. This will be a not-for-profit scheme. The money I am asking for is to secure a suitable commercial property for a year. After this point the academy will fund itself. My intention is to create a supportive and welcoming environment that promotes mental health and reduces stigma. The academy will also provide free regular haircuts for the homeless population, increasing their well-being and supporting their integration into society and the world of work.
