Chantel Jordan Family

Life can be incredibly unfair sometimes and despite advancements within society, we still live within the confines of social and justice systems that do very little to serve or support victims of crime and general misfortune. I am about to share with you one such situation and implore that you contribute financially to aid a family that has been shattered.

I hope to share enough of this family’s story that you see the incredible need while still maintaining as much dignity and privacy for them as possible. Though it is obviously an embarrassing and difficult position to find one’s self in, the family has granted permission for this fundraising opportunity and the funds we raise will go toward the extensive legal fees needed as they navigate this heartbreaking situation, as well general living expenses.

Chantel has experienced a tumultuous marriage riddled with infidelity on the part of her husband, Mike. Though heartbroken time and time again, Chantel continued to fight for her marriage because she believes in the sanctity of marriage and because she wanted to keep her family together for their four children.

In January of 2022, their 14-year-old biological daughter came forward to allege that Mike had been molesting her for approximately six months. Though this was a devastating blow, Chantel went forward to the police in support of their daughter. The police report was filed that day and Mike was asked not to return to their shared home. A judge granted an emergency protective order that, for various reasons beyond Chantel’s control, has yet to be served as of this writing on 3/3/22.

Each time a court appearance is made to ask for more time to serve the order, it costs additional legal fees. This is in addition to the separate legal fees needed to file and navigate a case for a divorce. The third legal case in this tragic situation is a criminal one. The county found enough evidence in this situation to move forward with 1 felony count of child molestation in the 2nd degree, 1 felony count of child molestation in the 3rd degree, and 1 misdemeanor count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

Mike was arrested on 2/9/22, but achieved bail on 2/12/22. During his jail time, the county failed to serve him the protective order as requested before allowing him to leave on bail. All three cases are ongoing and Mike has received enough personal earnings and additional support from his family to enable him to continue fighting all three cases.

Since leaving the home in January, Mike has contributed nothing financially to Chantel or the children. The majority of their shared bills are in Chantel’s name, making her legally responsible for them. They reside in the state of Washington where the cost of living is high and Chantel now finds herself a single parent engaged in multiple legal battles to protect herself and their children. She could move to another state where the cost of living would be lower and she could have a support system, but she is legally unable to do so because of the pending legal cases.

Where is the support for the victims in this instance? Through no fault of her own, Chantel must now physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially support herself and their children, finance legal battles, and simultaneously defend her ability to be a fit parent and provider. Where is the justice and protection for the precious victims of this situation? Our system is broken friends, and the very victims it is charged with protecting pay dearly for its inadequacies.

Please. I implore you to help ease the financial burden on Chantel and her children. Every small donation adds up to make a big impact on a real family. Whether you are able to give or not, I ask that you pray for each person touched by this heartbreaking situation as they move forward toward the hard days ahead.

No victim should ever have to fight alone - let’s not leave Chantel and her children fighting alone for what’s right.
