Chapel Hill Wild Bird

Hello! My name is Kayla Ewell and I am the manager/new owner of Chapel Hill Wild Bird, and I appreciate you taking the time to visit our GoFundMe link.
On Monday, July 3rd, we received notice that Chapel Hill Wild Bird (formerly the Wild Bird Center of Chapel Hill) would be closing permanently. We had shut down our Eastgate location Tuesday, June 27th, eagerly anticipating our reopening in Chatham Co, 9515 US 15 501. We were approved for a new rental property, our manager got the LLC for the business transfer in order, and we were preparing for our move near the end of July. Unfortunately, the initial contribution and funding for the store start-up fell through which means we are currently unable to secure a location or pay for our first round of inventory. So as we search for another new location, we are now working on our funding as well.
Each of us employees love Chapel Hill Wild Bird tremendously. We are committed to providing excellent customer service and education on bird-feeding/watching in the Triangle, and we were so excited to relocate. Our store has been an integral part of the small business community in Chapel Hill for nearly 30 years, and we are trying our hardest to keep it going. Any money contributed will go directly toward paying the security deposit and first month of rent for our new location, utilities, display fixtures and store accessibility features, as well as the initial inventory stocking of bird feeders and Lizzie Mae bird seed. Any amount you are willing to contribute is greatly appreciated and will be paid back to you in full! This helps us keep Chapel Hill birding. Rest assured also if we are unable to reach our goal your money will return to your pockets as well!
If you aren’t able to contribute, please consider sharing our GoFundMe link on Facebook, Nextdoor, or Instagram.
Thank you for reading!
