Charisse’s Journey To The Ancestors!
Donation protected
Charisse Bowen has been living with an autoimmune disease by the name of Sarcoidosis for the past 8 years. When she was first diagnosed we didn’t quite understand the magnitude and impact that this condition would have on her every day life. In spite of adversity and hospital stays Charisse has remained strong as she has continued to be a great mom to her teenage daughter, as well as a business owner, college student, and an amazing support system for her friends and family. A couple of years ago Charisse’s condition took a turn for the worst as she was given up to three years to live. Her lungs were severely damaged, and she would require a double lung transplant. Charisse was diligent in being present for all doctors appointments and open to all methods of treatment. Unfortunately, the goals she’d need to reach in order to be put on the donors list proved to be quite difficult, and at times also felt impossible. In spite of all obstacles she has continued to persevere while continuing medical treatment. she has now reached the two-year mark and unfortunately, the medical professionals feel that they have exhausted all treatments and options. The doctors have concluded that there is nothing more that can be done to treat her condition and she has been transitioned into hospice care. The doctors have given her a timeframe of six months or less. Having to process this information hasn’t been easy. Our goal is to keep her as comfortable as possible while she spends this time with her family and close friends creating lasting memories. Over the years Charisse has applied for life insurance, but to no avail she’s been denied because of pre-existing conditions, they refuse to give her coverage. We are trying our best to prepare for arrangements and we ask that over the months any and everyone that can contribute to the expenses for Charisse‘s final arrangements as well as temporary sustainment for her daughter Alexis, who will be graduating next year! We ask that you be a blessing to her as well, while she transitions into adulthood. We appreciate all of you for whatever you can give whether it be financial donations, prayers or words of comfort. Thank you.
