Charity Gaming Marathon for CRY

Since the passing of such an influential part of my life, and many others, I've wanted to do a fundraiser in memory of him. Anthony George Evans unexpectdly suffered a cardiac arrest at the age of 19. To me and to everyone that knew him, he was charismatic, thoughtful, and was gifted with immense talent and an infectious smile. He always knew what to say in the moment, but also would come out with some comments that made you question whether he had more brains than sense. All these things, paired with his witty nature, made him one of the most influential people on my life thus far, and yet it feels like I saw him yesterday.

A year and 1 day since I last saw him before he went back to university for the last time, I've decided to commemorate his life and raise money for an important charity that is close to all of us affected. CRY, (Cardiac Risk in the Young) specialises in creating awareness, continuing thier vital research into the nature of sudden cardiac arrests, and aims to support the affected families who have also sadly lost loved ones. It relies on private funding from sponsorships, fundraisers and charity events so that they can keep working hard on finding preventable ways of diagnosing cardiac abnormalities.

I've chosen to do a gaming livestream for 12 hours, in hopes of raising as much money as possible. Anthony had a soft spot for video games, and often he would invite me around to his house to play FIFA or Call of Duty Zombies, where he would always protest that he was better than me even if I had beaten him 4-2 or 8-0. His twin Ben, was his rock beneath the surface and they had one of the strongest relationships you would expect from twins. Both love gaming and so do I.

Simply watching the stream, even without donating, will help massively as this will increase the chances of more people joining and seeing the cause we are fighting for. A day for this stream is yet to be confirmed, but the likelyhood is that it will be anywhere in April/May/June. This is to gain publicity for the fundraiser, and for me to also make sure I can produce a quality stream that I can be proud of. A 19 hour marathon of a variety of games is my goal, and I have every intention to see it through.

Anthony was a healthy 19 year old boy who had so much potential in his life, aswell as being a big part of all of our lives. Any money for this cause would be of great appreciation on behalf of me, my friends and all of Anthony's wonderful family. Thank you.
