Charity Smile Star

Hi, My Name is Kitty and I am a Senior Lead Dental Nurse in Cornwall.

I have been nominated for Dental nurse of the year 2022 and 2023 and made it as a finalist on both occasions

I have always wanted to help people and I do this every day in my current job. I have been given an amazing opportunity to help the Charity Smile Star, a UK charity that was established in 2010 with the aim of providing free, quality dental care to disadvantaged communities in African countries and India as well as to ex-Royal Marines in the UK.

The charity has been able to improve the dental health to over 5,000 people in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and India. A charity hospital has been set up in Gujarat in North West India which treats general patients as well as providing dental treatment and services that also extend to eye surgery.

This opportunity is self funding and is going to cost £4000 this is where I am hoping that you will help me.

It will consist of me working in the hospitals out in India as well as working out in the community helping children and families who are unable to access routine dental care.
