Charlee Grider is makin' a movie! (Scam Likely)

My name is Charlee Grider and I am a Film student at UW-Milwaukee as well as the Singer/Rhythm Guitarist for Milwaukee Garage Rock band, Scam Likely. I am now full-fledged into producing a feature length film that doubles as my senior project (woohoo) and am seeking your gracious help in making this possible.

The premise:

Garage Rock band, Scam Likely, embarks on the DIY music scene in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in early 2022. After mid-western success surrounding their debut album, Getting Worse, the four indulge, wholeheartedly, on their sophomore album. Exploring for the first time - vulnerably and publicly - through an observational and experimental lens; the inner workings of something that is inherently performative, the sacrifices & consequences, and a dream bigger than the city they reside in.

What your aid will go towards:

SHOOTING : With the gathering of footage over various organized “sub-productions”, we are in the process of hiring folks who are generously devoting their time following us around for these endeavors. ~ Some of the film will be shot on Film/VHS too! How fun!

EDITING : I will be doing the majority of the editing, but will absolutely need to hire individuals who are more equipped with handling the amount of footage we will be dealing with.

DISTRIBUTION : We are looking to secure a (or multiple) public screening(s) in a theater within the Milwaukee area when the film is complete (Fall 2024).

We are lucky to work with the filmmakers/artists we do and their compensation is gravely important to us. This aid will contribute to their financial needs for an all-consuming project like this one. (travel expenses, food, equipment rental, film roll/VHS stock, editing, etc,.)
