The story of a true warrior
Just a couple of years ago, Charleen, then 35 years old, felt some discomfort in the pelvic area and there began a real nightmare in her health, an alleged fibroid according to the initial diagnosis of her gynecologist in January 2021. Due to the denial of treatments by the medical insurance, the date of operation was extended and the alleged fibroid continued to grow. In March 2021, when she finally had surgery, they removed a malignant tumor the size of a softball. Everything changes in her world, she has aggressive ovarian cancer which has already spread in 76% of her organs, the surgeries begin, the chemotherapy and the agony that disrupts her life and that of everyone.
The news is not encouraging, the tumors multiply every time she is operated on and because she is resistant to chemotherapy she does not get conventional treatments seeking help at hospitals in Tampa, Texas and Oklahoma, who upon seeing the clinical picture deny her opportunities to be chosen for some experimental treatment of his aggressive cancer.
A ray of hope fell, as a last alternative she visited Dr. Holloway in Orlando Florida, the doctor talked to her about how she would do this new intervention, by then she had three unsuccessful interventions.
An achievement... In March 2022 Dr. Holloway removed all possible tumors taking a respite from the agony of being on the brink of death.
However, at the end of the year 2022, she began to have complications with the digestive system, since her intestines are gradually stopping working as a result of the 7 surgeries that they had to perform until then, it is difficult for her to eat and she lost a lot of weight. In December 2022, during her hospitalization, her doctors realized for the first time that Charleen has Hashimoto's condition in her thyroid, she began treatment, perhaps hoping that regulating her thyroid would regulate her intestine, which did not have happened.
After episodes of intense pain with the intestine still partially blocked and without doctors willing to help her due to her high risk, this warrior does not give up, she continues looking for gastric specialists to help her overcome this new crisis, but her legs now retain fluid, swell and cannot walk limiting his ability to work and keeping her home up.
This past Easter Sunday Charleen gave us a lesson in life again when she wrote an emotional message on her Facebook page and posted photos of her little angels Sebastian and Victoria, this is Charleen, a true warrior and she quoted the message from she:
"...While I breathe, I will do the impossible to see my children smile...
I know that many do not know that I have several health complications that are preventing me from doing certain types of activities, working and even walking. Today has been one of those days in which I could only get up, hide the little eggs inside the house and go back to bed, but you know what? That smile is the engine of my fight and desire not to give up. They were happier than ever, super grateful for the sacrifice, they hugged me and told me over and over again, thank you mom! They are my world and my pride. Happy Easter 2023
Friends all, I appeal to her heart and her generosity to help Charleen financially through this "Go Fund Me" so that she can continue paying for her car, her apartment and having her children close to her. her. We aspire to help her with a sufficient amount of $25,000 USD so that she has a whole year without financial worries, gets treatment for her condition and can return to work as soon as possible and to her daily life next to her children and see them continue to grow and smile.
Thank you all,
